What I'm Loving Wednesday....

It's that time again.  Link up with Jamie or just pop on over to her page to see what other bloggers are loving today.

I am loving my perm!  Yes, I went through with it and it turned out wonderful.  Miss V said it was "beachy" which is EXACTLY what I was going for.  LOVE

I didn't really love the process...it was stinky and I was freaking out the entire time but I LOVE the final product.  (Please ignore my dorky pictures and just look at my hair!)

Most of all, I am simply LOVING Mrs. Hall and baby Ryland.
I am so proud of my friend and her step into mommyhood.
In the top two pictures he's wearing one of the outfits I got for him...Mrs. Hall says they must have been made for him because they fit perfectly.
**LOVE**

It is so special to see a good friend become a mother.

Oh The Places You'll Go... Morcom Rose Garden!

Spring break is here!  I have my days wide open and plenty of free time to explore parks, new neighborhoods, and take some time to appreciate my city.  Miss V has been enjoying her city as well, check out her blog to see the places she has been visiting.

Today I found myself wondering over to the Morcom Rose Garden.

I had heard quite a bit about this rose garden but never ventured up the hill to take a look for myself.  Today was the perfect day to see what all the fuss was about.  The sun was peeking through the clouds, the air was crisp, and the first signs of spring were all around me; bees buzzing, flowers blooming, and little squirrels playing.
I started down this path...
and came upon this cute little building...
and a pond...
and a waterfall that I imagine is pretty when it is on...

and all these beautiful roses...

And little creatures enjoying a break from the rain...

Several people were walking through the park or sitting on benches to enjoy the warm spring air and serene atmosphere.  I spent over an hour exploring and taking photos.  I hope that my pictures have done Morcom Rose Garden justice.  I look forward to visiting in a few weeks when there are more flowers in bloom.

What I'm Loving Wednesday....

It's that time again....WILW.  Go to Jamie's page and see what other bloggers are loving.

Right now I am totally in LOVE with my final decision to PERM my hair!!!  Sunday night, I was with my sister and some friends and I decided I was going to just do it already!!  Yesterday I got my supplies...

I will be SURE to take many pictures of the process and let you know how it goes.

On a totally unrelated note, I am LOVING Mambas.  I randomly saw them the other day and had to have them.  Brings me back to my younger days.

I am LOVING my at home Starbucks coffee bar.  I now have Sugar Free Vanilla sweetener to put in my coffee!

Finally, I am LOVING one of my bestest friends...Ms. Duke.  Though we are separated by distance we are closer than ever.
**LOVE**

I LOVE a lot but for today that is all.... What are you LOVING today?

Oh the Places You'll Go.... Old Oakland

I have this taken this blog idea from Miss V.  She has done many posts about different adventures that she has taken in her city and in places she visits.  I think it is so clever and gives me a great reason to explore!

A while back I was walking around downtown Oakland.  It was a chilly, overcast day and I thought about how beautiful the gray sky was against the old buildings.
G.B. Ratto's
Established by Giovanni Battista Ratto in 1879, this unique International Grocery is widely accepted as a bustling memorial to its founder, Giovanni Battista Ratto, an Italian immigrant who initiated some truly enduring principles in customer relations.

The Fox Theater
The Oakland Fox Theater, a 2,800 seat movie theater originally opened its doors on October 27, 1928 in downtown Oakland, California.  Reestablishing the movie industry, the Fox offered the opportunity to stray from the silent films and helped introduce the “talkies” by having a live stage show.  The complexity of the Fox’s design portrayed a very lavish lifestyle. Reflecting luxury and class by its beautiful structure.

It really got me thinking about how much I love my city.  This part of the city, tucked between the freeway and big downtown buildings, is one of my favorite parts of Oakland. The restaurants are yummy, the stores are locally owned, and most of my favorite going out spots to go are right down there.
If you haven't been I suggest you visit....Old Oakland!
